予期しない日本語学習の壁 方言

留学生の子たちが、よく口にする言葉があります。
長崎という土地柄もあると思いますが、それは、
Guess what international students here like to talk about.
It has something to do with character of Nagasaki.
「方言がわからない」
「自国で習った日本語と異なる」
ということです。
"I don't understand this dialect"
"This kind of Japanese is different what I learned from my country"
Yes, it is Nagasaki dialect!
確かに。。。。
私が昔東京で使って笑われた（笑）方言を挙げてみると、
確かにわからない気がします。
The dialect that I used to be laughed at when I lived in Tokyo..
Thinking about this and trying to say it, I have to admit that it is, indeed, hard to understand.
大学等の若い世代の方はいまは方言はあまり使わないし、留学生を気遣いながらしゃべってるのであまり違和感を感じないらしいのですが、一歩外に出た瞬間にやはりわからないことがあるようです。
These days young people in university don't use dialect anymore. Also, some Japanese are careful with their words when they speak to international students so that the international students won't feel uncomfortable. However, when they go out to the real world, they find out that they sometimes don't understand what people say.
逆の立場で考えてみると、ばいを例にとると
For instance, the word "bai"
覚えた単語の末尾に、必ず別の言葉が付いてくる。、、みたいな。
To use this word, you just need to add this word to the ending of words you know.
你好ばい
Sukibai
文末ならまだしも、そもそも動詞が変化したりしたら教科書学習ではまったく役に立たない気がします。
Other than sentence ending, I think it is unnecessary to put rules like changing verb form in textbook.
これを埋めるためには、、、
To cover this,
あまり思いつきませんが、
地元の人としゃべる機会をたくさん作ることや、対応する日本人がきれいな日本語をしゃべる必要があるということと
長崎に限って言えば、これ（↓）を差し上げたほうが良いかもしれませんね。
I think it is important for international students to find chances to talk more with locals, and for Japanese to talk with them with standard Japanese.
If they are in Nagasaki, it might be a good idea to give this to them as well.
